Farm Fun- week 1

This month is farm Madness we started out with life on the pond and how a frog life cycle is similar to the butterfly and chick. They start as eggs, turn into tadpoles, grow some feet and then loose their tail and they are frogs
Each day we worked on a different part of the process
Day 1 we talked about how tadpole eggs are in a jelly like substance and will not survive in water. On a piece of wax paper we pored tons of glue on a small Lima bean

Day 2 Tadpoles: we painted egg cartons and cut out an tail shape for a tadpole

Day 3 Frogs: we painted a paper plate green then our hands and stamped them on a white piece of paper. When they were dry we cut out our hands and glued on eyes and a toy get on complete our frog.

Day 4 Lilly pads: what pond Is complete without Lilly pads. We painted small paper plates green then added tissue paper to make the flower.

Science:

We sang 5 green and speckled frogs by Raffi

Noah's Ark

Today we talked about how God provided the animals. Two by two they came into the ark and because Noah used Gods plan and the ark fit all the animals

Using a Manila folder we made our own arks

We also colored, cut and matched the animals on the Ark

I love the worksheet that are provided in the curriculm they are age appropriate and fun for the kids to do.

FunShine Faith Lesson 2- building the ark

This week we have been focusing more on the building of the art. What type of bark that God told Noah to use how big he told him to build it how wide God told him to build. We talked about how Noah even though it seems silly did what God asked.

Art - Builder's apron
The curriculum gave us all the materials needed to build Builder aprons that kids love coloring and cutting out the tools and wearing their aprons while they did the following a plan activity

The Lord Provides

This week we used the art provided to decorate these cut cups. The kids were so excited to pour their own water in them and drink out of them. We used markers and the stickers provided to decorate the cups.

I love using the cups to remind my Pandas how the Lord provided for Elijah just how he provides for us every day.

Faith Lesson-The Ravens feed Elijah

Wow what a great story for this month. The story pf Elijah reminds us that God has a plan for us and that he will always provide. As we head on into April we will be learning the life-cycle of plants and animals. We will be exploring all the different ways God takes care of us and the animals he creates.

At the end of last month one of our crafts was a butterfly, I saved this activity to use in my life cycle of a butterfly.

For stage 1: we cut of leaves then glued tiny limabeans to represent the egg

Stage 2: we glued circles together making a caterpillar

Stage 3: we rolled a cotton in between our hand making it look like a cocoon.

Stage 4: I used the faith lesson craft idea having each spoon paint on one side of the butterfly punch out then we squish the wings together so each side looks the same.
